This error "Error while copying the file or folder" sounds familiar. It would apear the foulder which the install files are located, have a character which the install cannot resolve. Try changing the path structure (or move the install) to the shortest spec. Maybe "c:\temp".

IPL5 had been installed to "C:\Programme\iploungev5", MyDocs folder is "D:\Eigene Dateien\iplfilesv5". Just 2 normal paths. Even on my virtual XP wihout virus scanner and firewall I had some problems at first.

Changing the path sturcture of MyDocs doesn't make any sense because this could cause some problems.

I hope that this was an individual failure on my system. If some others report similar problems we should take a look at the cause.

Thanks for reply Tiggi. Hmmm, was under incorrect assumption this was occuring during install.
If same happens using english Windows, may be possible the hard drive is having problems. Easy enough to check that, simply download manufacturer diagnostic. Most have that will run under Windows. Which is handy when no floppy is about. Shocked

I've not yet installed, Arrrrg! Not yet had time to run the '50. Sad
If by chance language or hard drive not the prob, post and I'll install on my system and see if I can duplicate the issue.

OK, I just installed IPLv5 in my virtual XP again. Same problem, sometimes it works, sometimes not.

Now I resetted my virtual XP (clean install with SP3, IE8, .net and all updates; same as before but not used and without "trash"). Same error message here, but after clicking "ok" IPL seemed to work fine. Testet 3 times.
Here is a screenshot of my virtual "My Docs" folder:

I've only a german version of Windows, so I cannot test an english one.

My HDDs are quite ok. Drive "C:" where I installed IPL on my real XP is new, SMART status (CrystalDiskInfo, Seatools short test and SMART-Test) is ok.
Drive "D:" where my real docs and virtual XP are located is also ok.

Tiggi I will need to see the Application Log information as described above before any conclusion can be made. If by chance all is now working fine, then that also is good.

Laughed so hard fell out window Karsten. For months I've been hoping to get online and race. Unfortunately, things have not been cooperating. Not yet lost desire and with much luck, soon will be back.

Hmmm, in regards

Logfile.ipl looks like this on the NEW virtual XP:

Quote:
*****Error***** Das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden

Translated: System couldn't find the file.

IPL works fine after the error message, also on my normal PC.

I got the same problem on my German windows xp. I used the setup of IPounge 5.41.

On Win7 (32 & 64 bit) it works fine. There's no difference of files in "C:\Program Files\iploungev5" between XP & 7.

But I got only 9 files in the userfolder on xp. "C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\JimD\Eigene Dateien\iplfilesv5" There are only
    Replays (empty folder)
    flags.zip
    iplounge.css
    kool20.htm
    kool21.htm
    kool22.htm
    kool23.htm
    kool24.htm
    kool25.htm
    logfile.ipl

On my Win7 I got 33 files & 3 folders in "C:\Users\JimD\Documents\iplfilesv5"

Edit: If I copy the iplfilesv5 folder from Win7 to xp, IPLounge 5.41 runs.

It's sad, but I still can't run IPLounge. V.5 Beta runs, in 5.3 -5.4 versions IPL always off in start.

How i start a tournament in IPL HS without IPL? Sad
